CYM Musical The Crusader – First Rehearsal: Tuesday 10 March 6.30-8.30pm at St James the Great Church, Petts Wood

Thank you to all those who attended our open auditions over the last few weekends, it was fantastic to see how much talent we have in our deanery community! We are still looking for Singers, Musicians, Technicians & Volunteers to join the chorus, orchestra or backstage team for this exciting new musical, The Crusader.

A tale of faith and conversion, exploring the question of how we effectively tackle injustice. This is a story of William, a C12th Knight, making his journey home from the Third Crusade to his wife, Thea, and to Gloucester, where his people are suffering under an oppressive regime. But then an uprising begins… This is a brand new musical with an original story and score, which we plan to perform this Summer 2020. The poster is here. CYM Deanery Youth Council Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2020 – Register your interest by 15 March 2020

Our Youth Councillors for Bromley Deanery are planning a 5 day pilgrimage to Lourdes this summer (26-30 July 2020). Travelling by coach, the programme will include daily Mass, a tour of the Shrines and the Candlelight Procession among other events. This Pilgrimage would suit youth aged 14yrs and above who would like to deepen their faith as part of this spiritual retreat and to strengthen our bonds as a deanery youth community. Any youth who are interested in attending will be encouraged to fundraise towards the ticket costs. If you are interested in attending the CYM Lourdes Pilgrimage this summer, please register your interest by emailing: susan.longhurst@bromleydeanery.org, notifying your parish priest or completing the online form. The deadline to register your interest is 15 March 2020. We would also love to hear from any adult helpers who would be interested in accompanying us!!

Update: Faith in Action (Year 4) – Our 2020 candidates and Shoe box appeal

We welcomed our new 2020 Faith in Action candidates for a wonderful first Reflective Session on 15 March at St Joseph’s Church. It was an amazing afternoon whose theme ‘We love because we are loved’ allowed us to reflect on God’s love for each one of us, through service, Scripture and the lives of inspirational figures, St Maximilian Kolbe and St Nicholas. We were delighted and proud of our candidates and their families who donated toys and shoeboxes for our Shoebox appeal – at the end of our session, 18 shoeboxes were delivered to the Early Intervention Centre (Bromley Children’s Project), where they will be given directly to children who we hope will benefit greatly from these thoughtful gifts. Well done everyone!! Our next session is on Saturday 21 March (3-5.45pm) at St Joseph’s Church, Plaistow Lane, Bromley and we are delighted to be joined by representatives from St Christopher’s Hospice.

An afternoon workshop with the sought-after RISE Theatre Company (1.15pm-5pm) with a full programme incorporating drama, music and workshop.
