International BBQ 2026

The parish held its International Celebration Day on Sunday 19 July 2026. The 10 am Mass had an international theme, and included music from a variety of countries and prayers in English, Yoruba, Italian, Polish and French. Fr Mark was joined by Fr Joe from Nigeria and Fr Marcel from Cameroon.

Then from 1 pm we held the annual parish barbecue. This was an opportunity for the parish to celebrate our multi-cultural diversity and the unique bonds that connect us all. All proceeds were for the benefit of the parish.

Many parishioners came to enjoy the company, the good food, the music – and the dancing. Many thanks to all who worked hard to organise the barbecue.

I wish to sincerely express my profound joy and heartfelt gratitude for everyone’s participation and support in making this year’s International Celebration Day truly unique and memorable. A very special ‘Thankyou’ to the many ‘heroes’ whose tremendous work, dedication and commitment behind the scenes helped make our International Celebration Day possible. My gratitude also to all the ‘Chefs’ who prepared and made delicious food for us all to enjoy. The menu was truly international with every continent represented!

First and foremost our International Celebration Day was all about our celebrating our multicultural diversity as a Parish, strengthening our community spirit and sharing in an afternoon of togetherness, but thanks to people’s generosity including some very kind donations it also helped raise funds for our parish. So far the total to date is in the region of £1500 which will be put towards various parish projects.

The Celebration Day was a tremendous success and all our parishioners and guests went home uplifted and filled with joy. Thank you again to all those who help make our Parish a true home of joy, peace, welcome and mutual support. I feel so proud and privileged to call Our Lady of the Rosary Church my home and to a part of a very special community. May the good Lord continue to reward your generosity, dedication and support with abundant blessings.
